Splendid Teamed Up with Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger Mary Lawless Lee of @HappilyGrey for a Limited-Edition Capsule Collection.

Splendid, the Los Angeles based contemporary lifestyle brand known for its effortless, super-soft styles, is excited to announce the launch of a limited-edition capsule collection with fashion and lifestyle blogger Mary Lawless Lee of @HappilyGrey. The Splendid x Mary Lawless Lee collection brings the casual yet chic aesthetic of Nashville—Mary’s home base—to Splendid’s elevated matching sets, jumpsuits, outerwear, swimwear, and mommy + me styles.

For Mary, fashion is about connection. Inspiration was pulled from elements that evoke emotion and nostalgia and are reminiscent of pieces that were missing in her wardrobe. The oversized rugby shirt is her take on a classic style that celebrates Splendid’s use of stripes, the quilted coat was inspired by her grandmother’s robe, and the ethereal linen pieces that were uniquely created fabrications for the collection are reminiscent of fond travel memories.

Having grown up in Texas and settled down in Nashville, Mary chose a palette that is inspired by her southern roots. The bold stripes, floral and geometric prints are a nod to vintage styles she’s so often inspired by and were combined with Splendid’s soft coastal and functional design. Every piece of the collection, from the fabric to the colors, and silhouettes were designed to be worn together and tell a story.

This collection was about wearability and creating timeless wardrobe staples. Fit and fabric were our biggest focus, while incorporating playful elements like oversized buttons and prints to add character and femininity. This collection embodies a very nostalgic root for me – the silhouette of my grandmother’s house coat, an oversized vintage stripe, and light linens.

The campaign was shot in two parts, combining Mary and Splendid’s aesthetic. The first shoot took place in Nashville to represent Mary’s home base and the elements that inspire her daily. The second half of the campaign was shot in Palm Springs with her daughter Navy to pay tribute to Splendid’s California roots.

“Mary’s creative and meticulous nature were present in every meeting,” says Splendid Creative Director Holly Shapiro, who co-designed the collection together with Mary. “You can really see her attention to detail in design elements, like the inclusion of the extra deep pockets that hold a cell phone (even when moms bend down to pick up their little ones!), and the creation of fabrics with the softest hand feel that evoke her favorite vintage pieces.”

The Splendid x Mary Lawless Lee capsule collection consists of 55 skus including apparel, swim, and kids’ minis co-designed by mega-influencer Mary Lawless Lee with prices ranging from $58 – $428. The collection is sold exclusively on splendid.com, Saks.com, and in Splendid stores nationwide.
