From One-of-One Handbags to Statement Caps: Philip Karto Expands into Headwear
Philip Karto, the French artist and founder known for his one-of-a-kind, hand-painted luxury handbags, is expanding into a new category with the launch of NOT FOR EVERYONE, a collection of statement baseball caps that brings his signature artistic point of view to headwear.
Blending Parisian luxury with American attitude and underground streetwear, the collection is designed for those drawn to individuality, exclusivity, and pieces with a story. Each cap features distinctive embroidery and details that give it its own personality, positioning the baseball cap as more than an everyday accessory-it’s a statement piece.
The collection includes:
- PK Black: A black five-panel cap featuring an embroidered PK monogram, Philip Karto’s signature, and “USA” detailing.
- PK Camouflage: A camouflage five-panel cap featuring the embroidered PK monogram and signature detailing.
- NOT FOR EVERYONE – Black
- NOT FOR EVERYONE – Camouflage
The Black and Camouflage styles are also available in NOT FOR EVERYONE editions, featuring the phrase discreetly embroidered under the visor-a hidden detail intended to be discovered by the wearer.

Born Philippe Carteau in France. Raised in the Mediterranean. Rooted in craftsmanship. Drawn to provocation.
Philip Karto grew up in the south of France surrounded by sunlight, craftsmanship, and creative independence. From an early age, he was drawn to American pop culture, provocation, and the tension between heritage and disruption. These were not references. They were foundations.
In 2013, he relocated to Miami. In 2017, he founded his atelier, establishing a distinct practice centered on authenticated vintage luxury bags from Louis Vuitton and Hermès. Each piece is dismantled by hand and meticulously rebuilt, then transformed through artistic intervention – painting, embroidery, couture-level stitching, and metal components conceived within the studio.
Through this practice, Karto transforms heritage luxury objects into singular collectible works that bridge traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistic authorship. The result is a body of work defined by precision, irreverence, and an unmistakable point of view.
