The Basket Room launches Sports Luxe: a new collection of handwoven bags inspired by color, craft and memory.
Stripes never go out of style, returning season after season as a timeless fashion favorite. The Basket Room’s HEKA sisal shopper showcases bold horizontal stripes in vintage pink, ruby red, baby blue, mustard yellow, and emerald green, creating a vibrant statement piece. Handwoven by skilled women artisans in Kenya, the HEKA multi-stripe sisal shopper is available in two sizes and is finished with tan leather handles, an internal zipped leather pocket, and a placket pocket for smaller essentials. The regular shopper measures 35 cm (14″) at its widest point, while the large shopper measures 48 cm (19″) wide, offering generous space without compromising on style.

The Basket Room is delighted to introduce Sports Luxe, a new collection of handwoven bags designed by founder Holly McMullen and handcrafted by long-standing weaving partners in Kenya.
Over two years in development, Sports Luxe draws inspiration from nostalgic color palettes, reimagined through contemporary woven stripes, elevated detailing and versatile everyday silhouettes. Rich tones of ruby red, emerald green, mustard yellow, baby blue and vintage pink are woven together in bold graphic patterns and paired with luxury leather finishes.
The Basket Room’s CHEKA sisal bucket bag brings a fresh sports-luxe aesthetic to a timeless handcrafted silhouette. Featuring chic woven checkered stripes in a vibrant palette of ruby red, vintage pink, true blue, mustard yellow, baby blue, and emerald green, the design is beautifully balanced with natural sisal for a striking contrast. Perfectly sized for holidays, festivals, and everyday shopping, the CHEKA bucket bag can be worn over the shoulder, across the body, or carried by hand, thanks to its adjustable tan leather strap. A matching leather drawstring closure keeps essentials secure while adding a refined finishing touch.

The collection includes shoppers, cross-body bags and everyday carry-all styles, each handcrafted from sustainably sourced sisal by skilled women artisans in rural Kenya before being finished in partnership with a small leather workshop in Nairobi.
