Salty Mermaid made a bold first impression at PARAISO Miami Swim Week, unveiling fierce designs and empowering swimwear that turned heads and set the tone for the season.
On May 29, Salty Mermaid Swimwear lit up the runway at PARAISO Miami Swim Week with a powerful debut that brought bold energy, striking visuals, and undeniable presence. Marking its first-ever show with PARAISO Miami, the brand made a strong statement with a runway experience that celebrated confidence, creativity, and unapologetic style.
The show opened with the Mob Wife Collection, a luxe and modern take on swimwear that radiated boss babe energy. It introduced exclusive new looks that left a lasting impression on everyone.
Salty Mermaid’s debut didn’t just meet expectations, it exceeded them. The Mob Wife Collection captivated the audience with rich tortoise prints, gold beading, luxe piping, and the brand’s handcrafted Wild Cat print. Featuring bold reds, burnt oranges, shimmering golds, and sleek, wet-look black fabrics, each look embodied unapologetic confidence and fierce femininity.
Founder Sarah Jon Porreca-Swenson shared that the brand’s mission is rooted in empowerment. “We understand that it takes courage to wear a bikini, and our goal is to empower women, showing them that we support and understand them,” she said. That sentiment was felt throughout the show.
The runway journey continued with the Tulum Collection, which brought vibrant prints, romantic florals, and flowing silhouettes that added a playful touch to the night’s lineup.
The final act of the show introduced the brand’s newest capsule, Under the Sea, an ethereal tribute to softness, strength, and self-expression, inspired by coastal daydreams and untamed hearts. The collection merges softness with strength, inviting women to dive into a world where elegance meets edge. This collection featured delicate crochet details, shell-inspired textures, sun-kissed hues, and effortlessly elegant silhouettes that drew inspiration from coastal daydreams and untamed femininity.
The show was not only a celebration of bold design and creative storytelling but also a reflection of Salty Mermaid’s commitment to sustainability. Each look incorporated thoughtful materials, including recycled fabrics, textured terry, and ribbed elements. The brand has taken extra steps to reduce waste by repurposing fabric scraps into scrunchies, swim bags, and dog scarves. By producing in small batches and focusing on limited-edition drops, Salty Mermaid continues to lead with intention and integrity.
