Since establishing their design studio in 2012, Bernadotte & Kylberg have collaborated with some of Scandinavia’s most renowned and esteemed design brands such as Georg Jensen, Stelton, Zwiesel, and Hästens. Now, the design duo has launched their own brand.
Bernadotte & Kylberg have also, in the past few years, worked on design projects in collaboration with the Icehotel in Lapland among others. Over the past few years, they have also worked on interior design projects in collaboration with the Icehotel in Lapland among others. Now the design duo is taking their next step with the launch of their own brand, Bernadotte & Kylberg. Converging years of accumulated experience and vision, the eponymous brand is embodied by high-end textures, materials, and techniques to craft products that become a natural part of our lives. The design duo’s first collection will feature silk scarves, woolen scarves, and throws in a luxury blend of merino wool and cashmere. The collection debuted yesterday on October 10, available exclusively through the brand’s new online store bernadottekylberg.com.
“We’ve been designing products for others for years. It’s been, and still is, an immensely fun journey. But we’ve always looked forward to the day when we could introduce our own line of products and have been working towards that goal for a long time,” say Bernadotte & Kylberg. “When working for others, we integrate their brand history, values, and visions into our creative process. This time around, we’re entirely on our own. Factors such as mandated materials or adhering to a specific design style no longer come into play. Here, we are our own clients, focused solely on our essence. That’s why it feels fantastic to finally present our first collection to the world.”
The design duo has further developed their graphic profile into a pattern used throughout the collection of scarves and throws, creating an instantly recognizable brand signature. The color palette primarily includes classic hues such as black, white, beige and grey, but also incorporates accent colors.
The brand’s inaugural collection consists of textile-based products, where the choice of materials is a central factor in crafting the pieces. The products exude a timeless quality thanks to their well thought through design. While the first collection focuses on products that lean towards fashion, or that straddle the line between fashion and interior design like the throws, Bernadotte & Kylberg explain that the plan for the new brand is to expand into various home product categories.
“Working extensively with textiles has been a source of great enjoyment. It was therefore natural for us to focus our brand’s debut collection on textile-based products. We’re creating heirloom products that can be cherished for a long time and passed down through generations. Design-wise, this collection is a true expression of our DNA, which will be reflected in future collections as we expand into more products for the home,” explains Carl Philip Bernadotte.
In conjunction with the launch of their own brand Bernadotte & Kylberg, the design duo has also opened an online store, where the products in the brand’s first collection can be purchased from October 10.

The Bernadotte & Kylberg design studio was founded in 2012 by Carl Philip Bernadotte and Oscar Kylberg, who, since then, have created design for renowned Scandinavian and international brands such as Hästens, Skultuna, Gärsnäs, Georg Jensen, Stelton, and Zwiesel, among others. Their portfolio is comprised of a highly diverse and wide range of design objects and projects: from beds, stools, and other furniture, to glassware, tableware, vases, candle holders, eyewear, and jackets. Over the past few years, the studio has also collaborated with the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Lapland, to create the beautiful suite known as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as with the Eriksberg Hotel & Nature Reserve, which is a fairly new collaboration.
Bernadotte & Kylberg’s design philosophy is to create unique and sustainable design, with a razor-sharp focus on maximum user benefit and high design quality. The duo sees it as their duty to make users question how we use and perceive an object through the use of new textiles, materials, and techniques – and in doing so, to create innovative design that lasts for generations. Among other accolades, Bernadotte & Kylberg have been awarded the TableWare International Award of Excellence and the Red Dot Award in the category of “High Quality Design” for their Aquatic collection for Stelton, as well as the German Design Gold Award for the Signum collection for Zwiesel.
