H&M STUDIO SS26 EMBRACES INDIVIDUALITY AND CHANNELS A BOLD, ECCENTRIC SPIRIT
For SS26, H&M Studio embraces its eccentric side – in both attitude and expression. Stepping deliberately off-centre, the collection explores asymmetry, unexpected proportions, cuts and interplay of color.
Guided by smart, creative and unapologetic nonconformists, the pieces channel individuality and versatility at every turn. It’s a tribute to both self-expression and unshakeable confidence. H&M Studio SS26 will be in selected stores and at hm.com on 5 March.
The collection balances softness with strength and tradition with rebellion, but always returns to the idea of interpretation and reinvention – allowing each wearer to make the pieces entirely their own. Silhouettes and shapes invite experimentation. Tailoring grounds the lineup, from a coat in a classic brown check with an elongated neckline that also evokes the comfort of a bathrobe, a sharp black blazer with a high back slit, inward-curving armholes and a raw-edged lining peeking out from the sleeves. Wide-leg black trousers can be folded at the waist band to the back, front, or not at all, for sculptural volume.
Other standout pieces include a painted denim jacket and jean set with expressive brushstrokes for a raw, defiant finish, a black offset lace short-sleeved dress that bares the shoulders, along with a tie waist and trailing lace-trim straps, a brown check dress with a zip front, zig-zag stitching, puffed shoulders and a raw hem, and a black utilitarian jacket sculpted with front darts, a tucked waist and a loose, easy back.
Materials span wool, leather, cotton, alpaca blends and mohair blends. The colour palette pairs classic black, brown, grey and white with offbeat hues of burgundy, candyfloss pink, pistachio green, soft citrus yellow and pale turquoise. Surreal floral prints depict fuzzy blooms or oversized chrysanthemums. Accessories take on playful proportions: a burgundy pillow-shaped leather bag, a burgundy fabric-draped heel with a diamond-shaped front, and bold jewellery featuring playful flowers and a brushed vintage finish.
“The eccentric muse of H&M Studio SS26 lives in contrast – soft yet bold, playful yet precise. She dresses for the joy of becoming herself. That’s why the collection spans everything from tailoring and denim to sweet dresses and soft loungewear-type separates. Depending on the moment, it can morph into whatever she needs, wherever she’s going,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor and head of design womenswear at H&M.
