British watch brand William Wood, the largest donor to The UK Fire Charity, introduces the Triumph Vintage Edition Watch.
With every watch sold, a percentage is donated to support firefighters. Each timepiece is crafted using up-cycled firefighting equipment, reinforcing the brand’s deep connection to the fire service.
Christmas is a moment to reflect on those in need, which inspired the launch of a watch celebrating one of the Three Kings’ gifts. The Triumph Vintage Edition features a vintage gold-toned dial and case design, symbolising heritage, generosity, and enduring value.
Our Triumph Collection stands as the pinnacle of our chronograph craftsmanship – a true tribute to our firefighting heritage. Every detail tells a story: dials inspired by the dashboard of a classic fire engine, gauge-style hands reminiscent of vintage water pumps, and brass pushers forged from a century-old firefighter’s helmet, melted down to preserve its legacy. The new Vintage Edition adds a timeless sophistication to this legacy, pairing a radiant gold dial with sleek black accents that exude understated strength and style. I couldn’t be prouder to unveil the Vintage Triumph – a watch that captures the courage of the past and the elegance of the present.
— Jonny Garrett, Founder of William Wood Watches

The watch is presented in an upgraded black and gold genuine Italian leather fire alarm presentation box.
Product Description
Case Measurements: The case measures 41mm in diameter with a thickness of 16mm (16.5mm including the glass) and a lug width of 20mm. Designed to house a chronograph movement, the watch wears as a medium to large size on an average wrist and features brass pusher buttons on the side of the case.
Lug to Lug: The lug-to-lug measurement is 49.5mm, measured from the top of the north lug to the bottom of the south lug, indicating how much space the watch occupies on the wrist.
Case Execution: The case is finished in gold plating, with brushed sides and lugs. The high-grade gold plating delivers a distinctive vintage aesthetic. Caseback engravings, including limited edition and authenticity markings, are applied using laser engraving.
Movement Specifications: The watch is powered by a Swiss-made Sellita Group SW510 chronograph movement with a 48-hour power reserve, 27 jewels, and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour. Sellita specifies a timekeeping tolerance of +/-5 to +/-12 seconds per day. For a full power reserve, the crown should be wound 40 times.
Dial Execution: The dial features a vintage champagne gold diamond-cut finish with cut-out indices and sub-dials positioned at 3pm and 9pm. The 3pm sub-dial measures the start/stop chronograph function operated by brass pushers, while the 9pm sub-dial displays the running seconds. A date window is positioned at 6pm and operated via the crown. The curved dial and hands create a subtle optical illusion when viewed from the side. Beneath the dial sits a vintage Super-LumiNova disc matched to the dial tone. The indices and hands are polished in gold to complement the vintage aesthetic.
Dial Design: The seconds track printed around the dial replicates the chequered markings found on British fire engines. The chronograph hand is inspired by the chime of a vintage fire bell, while its counterweight echoes the shape of a firefighter’s axe head. The sub-dials reference pressure pump gauges used when opening fire hose valves. William Wood’s iconic vintage firefighter helmet logo is applied to the dial with micro-level detailing.
Crystal: The watch features sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The crystal is scratch-resistant, finished with a low-profile curve, and tinted with a medium blue hue in tribute to William Wood’s 25 years of service on the Blue Watch shift pattern with the Newcastle & Gateshead Fire Brigade.
Strap Measurements: Fire hose and fire gear straps are designed to fit wrist sizes between 5.5 and 9.5 inches. Straps are currently available only in a 20mm lug width.
Strap Execution: All William Wood straps feature a 20mm lug width compatible with the brand’s full watch collection. Fire hose and fire gear straps include a silicone backing stamped with “made from rescued materials” and “William Wood.” Each strap is fitted with quick-release levers, allowing tool-free strap changes in seconds.
Water Resistance: 100M / 10ATM
