The Ukrainian-born, France-based fine jewelry brand Dukachi introduces its first European piece – a necklace that embodies the enduring language of jewelry symbols in gold.

From the earliest depictions of Europe, wreaths have graced the heads of nymphs-nature’s ethereal spirits in Greek mythology. In ancient Rome, they became emblems of honor, crowning the victorious. Across Ukraine and Europe, they remain a cherished part of festive attire, woven into wedding traditions and seasonal rites. This golden choker echoes the timeless form of a ceremonial wreath. At its heart rests an anemone-the mountain bloom that dares to break through the last snow, a delicate herald of spring. Symbolizing nature’s first awakening, the anemone embodies both fragility and quiet strength. A line of diamonds trails along the piece, evoking the graceful ribbons once tied to wreaths, completing the design with a whisper of brilliance.
Founded by sisters Anna and Yelyzaveta Knyzhenko, Dukachi creates high jewelry pieces inspired by symbolic forms and natural motifs present throughout Europe – from ceremonial breads to alpine flowers to wild forest animals. Each piece carries a cultural thread recognized across time and territory.

The brand’s French debut opens with Anemone – a gold choker shaped as a wreath, echoing bridal garlands and seasonal traditions found from ancient Greece to modern-day France, Italy, and Ukraine. At its center blooms the mountain anemone – a flower native to the Alps, Carpathians, and Pyrenees, known for its delicate resilience and symbolic meaning as the first sign of spring. A refined diamond line traces the gold form, recalling the ribbons once woven into ceremonial wreaths.

“We are a brand with Ukrainian roots and a French presence, always searching for symbols that connect cultures – across time and territory,” say the Knyzhenko sisters, co-founders of Dukachi.

Dukachi’s world continues to grow – where fine jewelry becomes a vessel of memory and meaning. The brand’s previous collections have reinterpreted ceremonial breads – from Ukrainian festive loaves to Italian colomba and panettone, and French brioche – as well as alpine flowers like edelweiss and the lynx, a native species of Ukraine and Europe now endangered due to deforestation. Its image has been reimagined as a symbol of quiet strength, threading environmental awareness into the language of gold.

Each piece is crafted in 14K and 18K recycled gold, with natural diamonds and enamel. As Dukachi prepares for broader European expansion, the brand opens to collaborations – from hotel showcases to museum dialogues and curated moments across the worlds of design and fashion. Jewelry, like culture, speaks in symbols that transcend borders.
