Clarks Originals™ is excited to announce the release of its second collaboration with New York-based brand Engineered Garments.

This limited-edition collection reimagines the Clarks Desert Khan silhouette using premium suedes, smooth leathers, and tactile hair-on finishes – a fresh take on an Originals classic, infused with Engineered Garments’ signature utilitarian aesthetic.

Available in rich brown suede, sleek black leather, and playful hair-on leopard print, each pair features removable kilting for a military-inspired touch that nods to Engineered Garments’ uniform-driven design language.

Underfoot, a cleated, ultra-durable Vibram® sole reinforces the utilitarian edge, delivering both traction and style. Finishing details include co-branded triangular logo fobs – a distinctive sign-off that’s unmistakably Originals.

The Clarks Originals x Engineered Garments collaboration is available at clarks.com, EngineeredGarments.com, Nepenthes retail locations and selected retailers

Reflecting on the visual concept behind the release, Founder of Engineered Garments, Daiki Suzuki shares:
“While looking through old Clarks advertisements, I was inspired to create an image using a similar illustration style. The concept involved collaging illustrations with real product photos, highlighting the bold sole and tread pattern that define the shoe’s design. At the same time, I wanted to incorporate the music and energy of New York City, which serves as the foundation of our brand. To bring this concept to life, we collaborated with GAKU, a local New York graphic designer and a longtime creative partner, who handled both the photography and the illustrations.”

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers Cyrus and James Clark made a slipper from sheepskin cut-oBs. At the time it was groundbreaking: a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now. In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950, to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature that makes it unmistakably Clarks. Clarks is a global business operating retail, wholesale, franchise, and online channels in over 100 markets.

Engineered Garments was founded by Daiki Suzuki in New York in 1999, after taking inspiration from his years buying for the Nepenthes stores in their early stages, and combining it with his own vision. As a brand, our aim is to make garments that become more personal through the experiences you have with them. We value unique garment construction with attention to detail, with meaning and hidden qualities behind each design. We venture into conflicting themes, straying from “perfect design”. We are not designed but engineered.
