DUKACHI Vesnyanka Doll Pendants Collection

“Spring” (Vesnyanka) doll is an interpretation of a traditional straw doll of ritual significance, which was made of straw, grass, corn, reeds and was an integral part of rural life in Ukraine during the 20th century. In those days, straw was associated with the sun’s rays, bread, harvest, and personified the deity connecting heaven and earth.

The pendant consists of 18 parts, each of which s connected by hand.

Trypillian Doll is inspired by ancient Trypillian culture, where anthropomorphic vessels and statuettes (reproducing a female image) were widespread. The head of the doll has the shape of a spiral, which means development and movement, and reflects the universe.
