Aries has collaborated with Clarks Originals for the first time to present Desert Trip, an exclusive 2-SKU capsule that brings Aries’ distinctive take to two iconic Clarks Originals silhouettes: the Wallabee and Desert Trek.

Walking the line between extra-terrestrial and nostalgic, the collection imagines following in the footsteps of a consortium of explorers as they embark on a journey that distorts time and terrain.

Brought to life by British photographer Douglas Irvine, the campaign sees his signature cinematic dreamscapes captured against the arid backdrop of the British coastline of Dungeness – complementing the collection’s earthy tones.

Wallabee and Desert Trek

Launched in 1968, the Wallabee is instantly recognisable, thanks to its signature moccasin stitching. Equally renowned for its unique shape – the result of a raised central butt seam – the Desert Trek debuted in 1972.

Inspired by archival images from Clarks, this collab reimagines the cult classics, showcasing Aries’ inimitable streetwear aesthetic with airbrush fade prints on the soles of the Wallabee and the uppers of the Desert Trek.

Both pairs are crafted from premium suede, with the Wallabee also featuring contrast hair on the vamp. Authentic Clarks Originals natural crepe soles are stencil stamped with the Aries Trip graphic. Leather and cotton laces embellished with colored beads, and talismanic charms – including a python-embossed print and a faux fur design – enhance the styles, while a leather Aries Trip and a suede Clarks Originals fob complete the look.

The Wallabee is available in Maple Combi and the Desert Trek in the Brown Multi colorway. Prices start from RRP £180.

Aries x Clarks Originals launched on Friday 9th June 2023, and is available to buy from www.ariesarise.com and the Aries Soho Store, 31 Great Pulteney Street, London, W1F 9NN.

Aries x Clarks Originals Tie-Dye LS Tee

As part of the collab, Aries also released a psychedelic tie-dye T-shirt.

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking: a combination of invention and craftsmanship that has remained at the heart of what the brand does now. In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950, to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature that make it unmistakably Clarks. Clarks is a global business operating retail, wholesale, franchise, and online channels in over 100 markets.
