MOSCOT, the heritage New York City eyewear institution unveils new classiconic designs in a new campaign centered on the austere quirkiness and humble humor of the brand.
The new Fall/Winter 2022 selection is a collection of frames that know no place, nor time, but that transcends cultures, peoples, and places.
Fashion meets humor in MOSCOT’s Fall/Winter 2022 Campaign, juxtaposing formal wear and ’60s inspired eyewear with spiraling motifs on a black and white set. Drawing on quirky details and the visual perception of optical illusions, the campaign utilizes color, light, and pattern to speak to the new eyecatching designs. With The GOOLAH and The SMENDRIK styles handcrafted in a limited batch for this season only, these are two frames to keep an eye on!
“New York’s fashion and style is a reflection and celebration of one’s self,” shares Chief Design Officer and 5th Generation, Zack Moscot. “With this philosophy in mind, I was immediately brought back to the ethos of self-expression and counterculture in the sixties.” While beginning the design process of this new collection, 4th Generation and CEO, Harvey Moscot, would often send pictures of silhouettes featured in old movies and classic television shows, inspiring the designer to dig into physical and digital archives from decades past. “I took the shapes of the era combined with our heritage design and modern details (think Custom Made Tints) and made a classically MOSCOT collection.” he adds.

The MOSCOT Fall/Winter 2022 Collection
NUDNIK
Features: Made from acetate with a wrap-around frame front and two dot rivets on the front and temples, a saddle bridge, and real seven-barrel hinges. Sunglasses are made with MOSCOT’s signature Custom Made Tints™.

MOBBLE
Features: Made from acetate with color-coordinating raised square rivets on the front and temples, a key hole bridge, paddle temples with grips, and real seven-barrel hinges. Sunglasses are made with real glass lenses.
Story: No need to check the weather forecast when you’ve got The MOBBLE on your hands—simply get out your umbrellas now. When it comes to the good looks, strong construction, and elevated details of the MOBBLE, when it rains, it pours!
MESHUG
Features: Made from acetate with no exposed hardware on the frame, front, two dot rivets on the temples, a saddle bridge, and real five-barrel hinges. Sunglasses are made with MOSCOT’s signature Custom Made Tints.
Story: While known as the black sheep of the family, Sol’s brother, Sam, was loved just the same. A bit of a rebel with a strong sense of self, when it came to matters of the family business, he fit in like a square peg to a round hole. Mirroring the rounded edges of this square-shaped frame, we made The MESHUG should you need a reminder to stand out.
GOOLAH
Features: Made from thick block acetate with three dot rivets on the front and temples, a saddle bridge, and real five-barrel hinges. Sunglasses are made with MOSCOT’s signature Custom Made Tints.
Story: Antonio was a MOSCOT porter around Sol’s time in the Shop. As reliable as he was tough, he was surprisingly refined when it came to repairing the delicate equipment behind the counter. Much like the casual yet detailed structure of this chunky frame, this good-looking GOOLAH won’t disappoint.
SMENDRIK
Features: Made from metal featuring triple gauge striped metal skiving on the front and temples, titanium nose pads, and color-coordinating acetate temple tips. Sunglasses are made with MOSCOT’s signature Custom Made Tints.

Story: This is a true story about a little guy who wore a little frame. A friendly optician from the original Orchard Street Shop, it was always Seymour’s mission to provide the proper fitting frame on even the smallest of punims…his name was ‘see more,’ after all! Made for the best (& littlest!) optician on Orchard Street, this prized PITSEL is for our guy, Sy!
