For Fall 2017, KARL LAGERFELD PARIS reinvents and modernizes the essentials of a woman’s wardrobe, as seen through the lens of the fashion icon and legendary couturier.

These chic staples celebrate the signature contrasts of the Lagerfeld look, in which rock meets couture, masculine meets feminine, and European elegance walks with a contemporary edge—all of this with the designer’s signature wit and insouciance.

An attitude of Parisian cool defines the collection, which includes Lagerfeld’s freshest takes on eight wardrobe musts: the biker, the coat, the jean, the knit, the dress, the blouse, the tee, and the blazer. These pieces are endlessly reinvented, injected with a sensual femininity in Lagerfeld’s iconic color palette of black and white—with considered pops of color, of course.

Sleek boy-meets-girl tailoring is central to the collection, seen in refined black peacoats and cropped tweed blazers. At the same time, the range offers multiple iterations of the leather jacket: a biker style with delicate ruffle trim, a motorcycle design with dramatic faux fur collar, and a chic blouson with gold studded trim. Elegance meets utility as touches of feminine metallic bouclé are added to quilted down outerwear, seen in both a gilet and a cropped bomber style. Faux fur coats provide sustainable warmth in tones of dusty rose and classic black. Flippy tweed skirts conjure a flirty sexuality, while lace-trimmed white shirts complete a wardrobe of separates.

Lagerfeld’s vision for evening centers around bold takes on the little black dress: romantic with cold shoulders, chic with feather trim, sensual in full lace, or dramatic with flutter sleeves and an open neckline.

Rock-chic accessories include chevron-quilt, chain-strap shoulder bags; sleek plexi clutches adorned in pearls and crystals; and sequined black backpacks. Meanwhile, knee-high motorcycle boots—the rocker’s footwear of choice—bring Parisian attitude to every look.

In the brand campaign starring supermodel Stella Maxwell, photographer Dan Jackson celebrates the grandeur of Paris. The powerful resulting images capture the city’s beauty and fantasy by projecting its most famous landmarks within a stark studio setting.
