Miu Miu

This is by far the most exciting show to review because it is THE LAST!!!! Yay, we survived another fashion month! And what a way to end the season, this Miu Miu show was beautiful. I may have been slightly less more Following the spectacular Valentino FW13 couture show, I had high expectations for SS13. Unfortunately, it wasn't as impressive. But fortunately, it was pretty nice. Lots of beautiful dresses and luxurious more The Chanel shows have become quite predictable lately, which I believe is a bad thing. This very long show didn't feel new in any way, although Lagerfeld has brought a few new shapes and styles to the Chanel more

Giambattista Valli

Stella McCartney

Just when I thought I was getting bored of minimalism (or perhaps Céline has just ruined the word for me with their disgusting SS13 collection) here comes Chloé's perfectly simple, chic, easy, modern, young collection filled with clothes that more While I loved Giambattista Valli's signature dresses and daywear, rich in texture but beautifully simple in design, but the number of sheer skirts really put me off. I was a nerd and counted them, and in a show of 46 looks, there were 10 sheer more I started off loving this Stella McCartney show, but then all the ideas that were pleasing to the eye mutated to monstrosities. The amazing sheer sweatshirt evolved to chav-like tracksuit outfits that made me wonder if she was inspired by the more

Alexander McQueen & Saint Laurent

Louis Vuitton

Before I start on this somewhat negative review of the Alexander McQueen show, I would like to point out that I am extremely grateful that Sarah Burton is at the helm (instead of some ridiculous ego) and that she has more It was close to impossible to do a show worse than Louis Vuitton's fall winter 2012 disaster, so it comes as no surprise that this was a vast improvement. But I am still convinced that 99.9999999% of Louis Vuitton' more This was a rather unsurprising Givenchy collection, given that it pretty much showed a bunch of clothes that both suit the brand and are somewhat interesting, yet not more

Christian Dior

Nina Ricci

This Christian Dior collection was certainly not as nice as the couture show in July, but it wasn't a complete disaster. Dior does an excellent business with their clothing, and that is more While I love that Peter Copping seems to have properly captured the essence of Nina Ricci and still add his own hand, this show wasn't particularly impressive. In fact, it felt very more Lanvin couldn't be beautiful forever, so I guess I'm not surprised they finally showed a collection that was no good. It's not hideously bad, there are still some beautiful Alber Elbaz more

Dries Van Noten

There is always something exciting about the Dries Van Noten show, it is the first one of the Paris schedule I review, and therefore a sign that the end of fashion month is more Here's an unusual turn of events, I was loathing the Lanvin show, and loving the Balenciaga show. Usually Nicholas Ghesquière's work is too much for more I don't understand what has happened here. The brand that supposedly did such a great job at dressing real career woman has suddenly decided they need to wear baggy satin pants, hideous fur more

Haider Ackermann & Hermès

Jean Paul Gaultier

Maison Martin Margiela

I love that no matter how purposefully deconstructed, graphically slick, and thoughtfully layered Haider Ackermann's collections are, they always look more If Jean Paul Gaultier wants to convince us he can excel at costumes for musicians, then he has done a good job on this show. If anyone needs a Madonna, Michael Jackson, Boy more This Maison Martin Margiela collection showed a perfect balance of weirdness (which is a brand signature), cool (what's NOT cool about Margiela?) and more
