Celebrating Creation and Innovation!

June 17, 2011 - [Paris] - The Calais-based lace-maker, Noyon-Darquer Group, took part in the Dinard International Festival of Young Fashion Designers for the second time this year and co-sponsored the new Special Lingerie Prize, alongside Allande Lingerie Fine, the French Federation of Lace and Embroidery (FFDB), the Mode City trade show and the Grand Hôtel Barrière.

The Special Lingerie Prize demonstrated its audacious side for this first edition: the award's acting patron, Chantal Thomass, and the members of the judging panel, presided over by Franck Sorbier, chose Maxine WATTAM for her "Kinbaku" collection, inspired by Japanese bondage, for "conceptual intimates with a jewellery-like quality".

The designer, who is already starting to establish a reputation and whose work is available from Selfridges in London, was awarded €5,000 by the Allande Lingerie Fine brand, which will also open the doors of its design studio to create a line for Spring/Summer 2012. Maxine Wattam will also be given a stand at Mode City and lace yardage worth €3,000, as well as technical support from the Noyon-Darquer group.

A long-term partner of ALLANDE LINGERIE, who initiated the prize, the NOYON-DARQUER group was proud to be chosen to represent prestigious Calais Lace, an all-important fabric for luxury intimates. Fashion and creation are ongoing priorities for the NOYON-DARQUER Group, whose world-recognized collections continually strive to offer exceptional products with unequivocal powers of seduction. Whether for intimates, ready-to-wear or couture, Noyon and Darquer laces are sought-after by the highest-profile designers and biggest-name brands, who take them to new heights, showcasing their beauty and rich diversity to optimal effect.
