Lack of White, Black is Back... So, Where is the Funeral ?

Polo Black Label
Polo Wooden Bangles
Polo Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani sells the best black collections worldwide. Ralph Lauren's 'Black Label' has been selling extremely well both on stores and online.
The same story happens when a fashion show is held. We see different kind of fabrics, shapes and variety of colors during an amazing fashion show, at the end, the designer walks on the podium with a black suit and bows to the audience. So where have all those colors gone and where is the funeral? It is like an anecdote told over and over again at the end of every fashion show. Lack of white, black is back...

New York, London and Milan Fashion Week and probably upcoming Paris shows will be the same. Most of the designers themselves and their creations and colors meet the same point with Black again. Designers know what sells every season even it is summer or fall. Black clothes are always fashionable and some people can only wear black as a lifetime choice. Trendy fabrics, shiny or matte, dull or sparkling can be used with the garments to style up the black collections. Black suits are lightened slightly with the occasional splash of white along the seams or with accessories and trimmings.

Polo Ralph Lauren's Black Label collection is also marvellous with the black accessories like 'Wooden Bangles'. The bold simplicity of the single collection bangle pairs sleek retro style with natural materials and craftsmanship for a chic bohemian look. Wide handcrafted rings of lacquered wood are fashioned with a convex outer surface.

"FASHION does not need to be changed every six months," Giorgio Armani said recently. "You can't do that to your customer who has faith in your label. You can't do that to your factories. In the end, you have to remain faithful to your clientele - and you have to sell on the shop floor" he continues.

Armani's Emporio Armani collection at the Milan Fashion Week has been stated as "very powerful and sexy". The fringed black satin skirts shimmered under jet velvet jackets can be worn daily and thick black wool jackets were folded like a fan jutting out from the back like origami clothing. Armani's shape was tucked in with pencil skirts elasticized above the knee and racks of Armani's famed jackets worn over mid-thigh bloomers. Though he seems like he doesn't pay to much attention to the trends, his collection was full of scents of Marlene Dietrich style.

Stunningly constructed, Prada showed a dark collection at the Milan Fashion Week. As a brief about the collection she told that "We are talking about minimalism again, but, it can't be sad and depressing. Last year we used fashion to escape from our problems. Now, we need to be more realistic and show ourselves to be more substantial."

As a designer myself who loves to wear black clothes as well, I may say that this story will never end. The power of black in womenswear and menswear may live longer in future trends cause most the designers acclaim that, if you can not find anything to wear, just wear black, it's simple as that.
