London based French-American footwear designer Angeline Tournier has launched her first ever collection for spring summer 2006.

The designer's debut collection has been sold exclusively to prestigious Paris department store, Le Bon Marche and now it is sold on-line at her web site; www.angelinetournier.co.uk.

Having studied shoe design at the prestigious Cordwainers College, Angeline went on to work for Matthew Williamson in accessories. Prior to studying footwear, Angeline worked in the city as a lawyer for over seven years.

She was offered partnership at her law firm but turned it down to pursue her dream, a career in designing shoes. Angeline's love of designing shoes stemmed from the fact she wears a size 42.5 (EU). As her frustration grew with the lack of fashionable footwear in her size, she decided to set up a business designing and manufacturing shoes in sizes EU 36 to 44.

"I wanted to make fashionable shoes that all women could wear and for women with large feet not to feel they had to go to a marginalised specialist store to find average bland shoes in their size" says the designer.

Angeline designs on a larger last (EU 40) instead of the usual size 37 to ensure the shoe looks great on big or small feet. Her shoes are designed in London, made entirely of leather, mainly goat and sheep skin, mostly imported from Italy and are manufactured in Portugal.

Her styles are characterised by round toes, low heels and wedges. "I want to make shoes that women can wear to a wedding or party and feel comfortable in all night, and not have to change into flip flops halfway through the evening"she says.

The “BETTY & VERONICA” comic strip on the wedges (TM and © Archie Comic Publications, Inc., 2006, all rights reserved), is used under license by Angeline Tournier Limited. Visit BETTY & VERONICA online at www.archiecomics.com. The original ARCHIE characters were conceived by John Goldwater and drawn by Bob Montana for Archie Comics.

The curved wedge is very light and has an elegant heel. The T-bar design makes long feet appear shorter.

Editor-in-Chief's Note:

I highly recommend Angeline Tournier shoes, especially her T-bar heels and T-bar curved wedges.
