Just How International is DC Fashion Week? 

With the addition of a designer sponsored by the embassy of Australia to the line-up, the event will be very international indeed.

This year, DC FashionWeek (DCFW) offers embassies an opportunity to engage in the use of information and culture to foster goodwill toward their nation, otherwise known as public diplomacy.
 
A partnership of independent fashion designers, producers and models, DC FashionWeek was created to increase economic development in the area of fashion design, clothing merchandising and modeling, and to enhance the visibility of the nation's capital as a center of international fashion.
 
The outstanding line up of local and international designers includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Eritrea's Mical Adhanom (Bethel/Helena), Alonzo Black III (Zobe), Blue System, Renee Christie(Renee France Designs), Diallo DeJaun, Elantes Fashions, E'more J Couture, Kenny Flannagan (KAS), Jabargue Vogue, Thomas La'Vone, Kim Lyons (Yndigo Designs), Tyrell Mason (Tyrell Mason Designs), Khaleelah Muhammad (KAMMAZE), New Zealand's Kathy Newton (KIWI COUTURE), Australia's Konstantina Mittas' (bytinaxxx), Andrew Nowell, Trinidad and Tobago's Claudia Pegus (Claudia Pegus Designs), Deborah Sterling (J-Brie), Ean Williams (Corjor International), and Israel's Hagit Witman (fishndag)

DCFashionWeek is a 3-day series of fashion shows to be held September 11 through 17, featuring fine designers from around the world. The event attracts press, fashion buyers as well as socialites and other affluent fashion consumers.
