Balenciaga I guess the thing to ask yourself when watching a Balenciaga show is not "Will I wear it?" or "Is it beautiful?", you ask yourself "Do I get this?" or "Am I enjoying looking at it?" In my case, I also ask myself "How much do I love the shoes?" and this season, the answer to that is not very much, as they are all flat, creeper style shoes, very Fluevog-esque but too clunky. Real women, who don't totter around in stilettos all day and who are normal sizes like 6 and 8 and 12. This collection, like most Dries shows, featured some beautiful tailoring, a surprising use of colour, and some stunning prints. The matronly, retro, countryside looks were not well executed, didn't feel cohesive, and in some cases were very unflattering.
