London Spring Summer 2009 Catwalk Collections Trend Round Up

Ruffles

Ruffles as embellishment were seen at Erdem, Luella, Temperley and many others.

Sheer Fabrics

Next summer's wardrobes will be full of sheer and transparent fabrics, seen all over the London Spring Summer 2009 catwalks, including Ossie Clark, Christopher Kane, and Giles.

Cap Sleeves

A key sleeve for Spring Summer 2009 will be the cap sleeve, seen at Todd Lynn, Basso and Brooke, and Armand Basi.

Soft Pinks and Bright Oranges

Bright orange was seen on dresses, bags, shoes, and separates, even in all-over looks at Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll, and Luella, while soft pink replaces creams and beiges for Spring Summer 2009, seen at Atelier1, Ossie Clark, and Roksanda Ilincic.

Rainbow Prints

Many London designers used multi-colored prints in their Spring Summer 2009 collections, especially with the print-focused brands like Basso and Brooke and Duro Olowu.

Cartoon Themes

Cartoon and animation references were used as print and embellishment inspiration at Danielle Scutt and Peter Jensen, while Giles dressed his models with over sized Pacman helmets.

Dip Dyeing

Bright colors were rife on the London Spring Summer 2009 catwalks and many designers favored dip dyes on dresses at Aquascutum and Basso and Brooke, and on tights at Eley Kishomoto.
