Anya Hindmarch’s “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” bag’s popularity resulted in a number of interesting versions of the concept. Marissa V’s version had a similar design, materials, and colours, but the message was as a response to the fact that the original was meant to be taking an ethical standpoint (despite the fact that is was made in China and not under fair trade conditions.)
Rendez-vous, a designer tradeshow during Paris Fashion Week, made their own version of the bag for their visitors, with the same text, a different design, and an image. An interesting point to be making, since Chanel’s 2.55 is most definitely NOT a plastic bag and doesn’t need hype or pretensions to maintain its iconic status.

Butter London is a range of nail polishes and nail care products that are 3 Free, meaning free from formaldehyde, Toluene, and DBP (apparently nasty ingredients which have very bad side effects.)
Butter London also provides manicures, available in shops around the US and the UK.
These non-toxic products are certainly on trend with the fashion world’s obsession with holistic, organic, and ethical beauty products.
I also like the fact that these products are heavily pigmented, which means the colors are vibrant and richer than the usual competitors. Lets just hope it’s easy enough to get off.

The mysterious Karl Lagerfeld will be exposed in a new documentary by Rodolphe Marconi.
“Lagerfeld Confidential” will be the result of two years work and over two hundred hours of footage.
Since there is no authorised biography of Karl Lagerfeld, this is likely to be one of the best insights into his work and his life.
He talks about his work at Chanel, his own brand, his photography, his friends, and the people he thinks are beautiful. The film opened in France in October.

Dr Whippy is a machine that measures the stress levels through a voice monitor and dispenses an appropriate amount of soft ice cream.
The more stressed out you are, the more ice cream you will get. Is it just me, or is this machines genius?
With no plans to go international yet, I think the entire world needs to petition to get this machine out on the market. Everywhere.
