Paris Spring/Summer 2010 Menswear Collections Trend Round Up | Part I

Belt Statement

There were some interesting belts on the Paris Spring Summer 2010 menswear catwalks, with Ann Demeulemeester doing large leather belt, Hermes placing simple but interesting shapes low on the waist, and John Galliano using layering and multiple belts to draw interest to the waistline.

Double-Breasted

Many designers showed double-breasted jackets on their catwalks, including Dries Van Noten, Dunhill, and Lanvin.

Graphic Prints

Comme des Garcons, Dries Van Noten, and Issey Miyake all had vibrant graphic prints in their collections, usually in clashing combinations.

Heavy Metal

Metal trims were seen in the form of sequins at Ann Demeulemeester, chainmail at Givenchy, and heavy embroidery at Hugo by Hugo Boss.

High Waists

Spring summer 2010 will see the return of the high waisted trouser for men, usually with a short leg and heavily pleated at the waist.

Knee Length Trenches

Trench coats were a key item on the Paris catwalks, with many designer favoring a knee length version, in classic colors, and usually belted.
