Milan Autumn/Winter 2009 Menswear Collections Trend Round Up | Part II |
Big Bags
Women's bags have shrunk recently, but men's bags are catching up, with most designers favoring large hand held bags as their key accessory. |
Scarf Story
Scarves are very prominent for next Winter, seen on nearly all the catwalks, in form of large knit statement pieces, shawl style, and decorated formal scarves. |

New Cocoon
Inspired by the womenswear trend, but using a more subtle form, Prada and Ferre both featured cocoon-like silhouettes on their catwalks. |
Pea Coats
Pea Coats came in many different colors, with a variety of detailing, such as storm flaps at Salvatore Ferragamo and zipper closures at Roberto Cavalli. |

Capes
Burberry and Salvatore Ferragamo had capes in their collection, while Moschino presented a poncho. |
White Jackets
Designers opted for white and ivory as a preferred jacket color, in both casual and formal versions. |

Bound Lapels
Moschino, Dolce and Gabbana, and many others used trim or binding around the jacket collars, in contrasting or tone on tone colors. |
Formalwear
Most designers presented tuxedos this season, or adapted versions, signaling a return to a very formal evening dress for men. |

Sheepskin
Jil Sander, Giorgio Armani, and DSquared2 all had sheepskin jackets on their catwalks. |
Tomato Red and Electric Blue
These two bright colors were seen as accent and on some smaller pieces on several catwalks, brightening up an otherwise safe color palette for the season. |
