Shutter Shades recently lifted the curtains on 2008's freshest new "facial accessory" at the latest Project trade show in Las Vegas. Their U.S. launch was an absolute smash hit with show goers literally scratching, kicking and biting to snatch up a pair. Celebrities from Snoop Dog to Lil' John to Paris Hilton all spotted the shades while walking the trade show floor and had to grab a pair for themselves.

Created in Los Angeles by Todd Wilkerson while working in marketing at a large record label, the Shutter Shades were something he initially made for himself. The very first time he wore them he couldn't believe how much attention they received. "The reactions I got that first night were unbelievable. It felt incredible wearing the shades and seeing the amazement from complete strangers and having them express their interest in them. People were literally grabbing them off my face! At that point I knew I had something hot."

Immediately, Todd put together a crew to help build the brand and take care of the day to day work. The "Shutter Shade Crew" includes his younger brother and a handful of childhood friends who all wound up in College together at Pepperdine University in Malibu. With immediate demand, timing was perfect for Shutter Shades to assemble a team that could match the buzz. "Shutter Shades has become an overnight phenomenon," states Todd. "People are fascinated by the shades and when people see them they want them by any means necessary!"

Shutter Shades have gotten some amazing exposure recently and there are plans to expand the line to include other styles and an apparel play.
