BC Fashion Week
SEPTEMBER 26th to OCTOBER 1st, 2006
In partnership with HollyNorth Production Supplies and Performance Visual Works, BC Fashion Week will provide their designers a stage that combines multi-media, technology and creative ingenuity.
Symbolizing disco for the 21st Century with a t-shaped runway for this season, the venue of the Performance Works Theatre at Granville Island will include front row seating of white leather benches provided by Moe's Home Collections, Vancouver.
"Once again the partnership with HollyNorth Productions will set new standards for runway presentations in Canada," stated Vladimir Markovich, BC Fashion Week Executive Creative Director. "Add in the creativity and ingenuity of Performance Visual Works and the comfortable style and grace of Moe's Home Collections and we are set for a great season, " he continued.
With the final lineup including Caius Olowu, Joanna Kulpa, Gleice Apparel, Lela Designs, Evan and Dean, and Asluxe, along with returning designers Jacqueline Conoir by Rozemerie Cuevas, Blushing Designs by Shelley Klassen, Wanny Tang, Vata Brasil, Mara Gottler, Anna Kosturova and DC Women, the stage and schedule is set for a week showcasing Spring/Summer 2007 individual designer collections. In addition to the industry events at the Performance Works Theatre, the week kicks off with a seminar series held on Tuesday, September 26th. Delivered in partnership with the Vancouver Economic Development Commission, Apparel BC and Department of Foreign Affairs, the seminar will be held this season at the Canada Export Centre in downtown Vancouver. With a variety of speakers covering off topics such as business planning, sustainable business practices for the fashion industry and guests that include visiting Trade Commissioners from the US, the day will be a full of topical information for industry and non-industry alike. The Journey is a fashion performance being held at the River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond and will be the opening evening event for BC Fashion Week Spring 2007. In collaboration with The Art Institute of Vancouver, audiences will experience a variety of live performances, including the presentation of twenty-four designers from the Institute.
