Oct. 18, 2007 - Target is partnering with American designer Erin Fetherston to create the next limited-edition collection for GO, an innovative program designed to provide affordable fashion created by world-renowned designers.
Berkeley native turned Paris expat, designer Erin Fetherston has taken fashion capitals New York and Paris by storm. Fetherston will launch an exclusive collection on Target.com/go and at most Target stores nationwide on November 18, 2007*. Her collection of women's fashion and accessories is perfect for the holiday season and will be available through December.
"Erin Fetherston is such a special young designer who will truly speak to the heart of our GO guests," said Trish Adams, senior vice president, Target. "Her exquisite cuts and detailing make for an affordable collection women will love."
After graduating from University of California, Berkeley, Fetherston enrolled in Parsons School of Design's Paris-based postgraduate design program in 2003. She called the city's Saint Germain neighborhood home and, upon graduating in 2004, showed her first couture collection at Paris Haute Couture Spring 2005. Heralded as "an American triumph of the French Couture," Fetherston also created a ready-to-wear line with dreams of seeing her creations grace the streets of the city that inspired her. Fetherston kept her couture design aesthetic while gracefully translating her visions into wearable pieces when she debuted in the UPS Hub in Bryant Park during New York Spring 2007 Fashion Week.
The Erin Fetherston for Target collection offers a variety of silk and jersey dresses in playful silhouettes, as well as separates with flirty details such as satin trim, velvet bows and heart-shaped buttons. Chiffon dresses are perfect for holiday parties while chunky scarves, brocade headbands and an oversized heart handbag make for on-trend and affordable holiday gifts. The collection ranges in price from $7 .99 - $89.99, including must-haves such as Peter Pan-collar dresses, ruffle-front blouses, chunky cardigans, miniskirts, skinny pants and wool coats.
Standout pieces include a charmeuse jumper with velvet hearts, red velvet shorts, a layered chiffon dress and a classic velvet pantsuit. Accessories include sweet bow headbands in red satin, black jacquard and cream brocade as well as playful heart necklaces and an oversized heart hand-bag. A chic wrap sweater and knit scarf with heart details keep warmth in as the weather cools.
