Article Review : Who's Afraid of Minimalism ? By Cathy Horyn of New York Times

The article of the chief fashion critic of New York Times Cathy Horyn;"Who's Afraid of Minimalism ?", perfectly explains the upcoming minimalism trend. But this time much more different then we know about the minimalism in fashion. "Quite a few fashion designers have everything it takes, and more, to be minimalists. They have an excess of talent to make clean lines out of ornamental ones, yet they lack the will or the stamina to hold unpopular views, and minimalism has been out of vogue for a good 10 years." says Horyn. Related to this article, there's a multimedia presentation; "The New Minimalism" which she has recorded. Please watch the video to take a look at the Fall clothes which Horyn has selected related to her article. [Photo credits : Francois Guillot/AFP]

ZOOZOOM 'The Original Online Glossy' presents ::
Into The Darkness

ZOOZOOM designer profiles introduces Lesley Mobo, the most successful Filipino fashion designer of the moment. Lesley Mobo won the coveted Diesel Award at ITS3 (International Talent Support) with a collection inspired by the fight for survival in extreme conditions.

Titled 'Obesity in the North Pole' Mobo used different textures and layering together with exaggerated shapes to explore the conventional and unconventional form and figure of the human body. The end result was a collection that abandoned the concept of clothing that contained the body and considered it's potential for extending it.

Now with his 'own label' collection for Diesel he has reworked these same ideas and delivered a wearable collection as rich in texture as it is in metaphors.
