Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013: Gucci

New York and London came and went with winners, losers, and shows that put us to sleep. While I found some things I loved, there has yet to be a show that has REALLY got me excited. But then came Gucci. This could be what I'd call a perfect show, not only because the entire collection was stunning, but also because Frida Giannini has managed to reference so many designers (old ones and her contemporaries) yet maintain originality and the Gucci signature. So watch out Valentino, Lanvin, Giambattista Valli, Tom Ford, Oscar de la Renta, and pretty much everyone else, you've got some stiff competition. This show was a "Best of Gucci."...read more
