Most of the time I look at fashion show images and read about fashion weeks and think "Thank GOD I am not there." The stress of going from one show to the next, wearing towering heels and praying you look good enough, waiting for shows to begin, making long treks for 20 minute exhibitions of clothing that most people cannot afford, just does not appeal to me. Giambattista Valli
Giambattista Valli's couture collection didn't feel particularly new (I spotted Viktor and Rolf ideas, as well as a bit of Mary Katrantzou and Valentino) nor was it very exciting. But couture doesn't need to be those things, it needs to be beautiful and it needs to be different from ready to wear.
