Pantone Goe System

Over 2,000 New Pantone Colors to Inspire, Explore and Express the Color of Ideas

System Includes Modern Tools and Interactive Software for Creating and Sharing Color Palettes through Collaborative Web-based Workspaces

Pantone, Inc., the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, unveiled the PANTONE Goe System (pronounced go), the first completely new color inspiration and specification system for the graphic arts industry since the introduction of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM 45 years ago.

With more than 2,000 new PANTONE Colors, the PANTONE Goe System is designed to inspire creativity and fulfill the requirements of a fast-changing, technologically advancing industry.

PANTONE Goe is more than a single product with exciting new colors; the System includes modern tools and interactive software to drive collaboration and improve versatility in an increasingly global, multimedia environment.

"The original PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM was designed to meet the needs of an industry that was functioning without a precise and reliable way to communicate color," explained Richard Herbert, president of Pantone, Inc.
"The PANTONE Goe System works in concert with the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM to empower everyone in the creative and production process with a simpler, more complete, user-friendly workflow from the moment of inspiration to the realization of a finished project.

Just as the original System enabled the industry to step into its future, PANTONE Goe will impel designers and printers to stay competitive and versatile in today's challenging and evolving marketplace."

The 2,058 new colors in the PANTONE Goe System are arranged in an intuitive, chromatic order for easy, precise, cross-media color selection and specification.

The PANTONE Goe System includes the PANTONE GoeGuide and PANTONE GoeSticks, a two-volume set of adhesive-backed chips, along with intelligent software for creating color palettes that can be imported into applications, shared among coworkers and clients, and archived for future reference.
New Ink Mixing Bases, Better Ink Control
The PANTONE Goe System offers a significantly expanded color palette, yet is based on a smaller set of 10 PANTONE Mixing Bases, plus PANTONE Clear, that are readily available anywhere in the world. This ensures color consistency on a global basis while keeping ink inventory to a minimum for printers. The new ink mixing bases were created with Pantone's deep understanding of color science to deliver technically sound color standards that are compatible with aqueous and UV coatings. The colors have also been designed for printing uniform ink film thicknesses to allow for equal drying times and more control when matching color on press. This enables press operators to run jobs at the same ink settings, providing significant production efficiencies. Pantone is ISO 9001:2000 certified and the Goe System has been manufactured under these stringent, quality control guidelines.

The PANTONE Goe System Components
The PANTONE Goe System includes the PANTONE GoeGuide, PANTONE GoeSticks and an advanced, intuitive software toolset for palette creation called myPANTONE Palettes.

PANTONE GoeGuide
Presented in fan-guide format, the PANTONE GoeGuide is the primary tool for selecting and communicating the 2,058 PANTONE Goe System Colors. Seven colors are represented per page, and each color is identified by a unique number along with its ink mixing formula and RGB values. To avoid confusion, the PANTONE Goe System uses a different naming system than the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM. The new naming convention uses a three-part numbering system with a substrate identifier of "C" that refers to coated stock.

PANTONE GoeSticks
All 2,058 colors in PANTONE Goe System are available in a two-volume set of adhesive-backed color chips, allowing designers to peel off a chip and place it where they want without using staples, glue or tape. The chips provide an easier and more professional method of creating, sharing and saving color palettes between clients, designers and printers. Six chips are provided per color.

PANTONE GoeSticks also includes a PANTONE palette playground for use as a test area to experiment with the chips. Once a color palette is set, the chips can be permanently placed onto one of 30 PANTONE palette cards supplied with the book. The finalized palette cards can be shared with clients when proposing color schemes, given to printers for color matching or archived with projects for future reference.
