Tell me about your team, you work with a lot of people you used to go to school with.

Well I think I was very lucky that I managed to meet so many talented people and beyond the fact that Central Saint Martins was a wonderful experience, because I had this interaction with the course director, Louise Wilson and other designer tutors, and I had the time to develop my own design language, I also had this opportunity to meet fantastic people.

These people were actually the weirdos from around the world. They were the weirdos from their class, they were the weirdos from their town, they were the outsiders or the fashion-crazy and they had no one to talk to. And they come to that greenhouse (Central Saint Martins), where everybody was fascinated by Vogue since they were 12 and everybody was stealing their grandmother's clothes and thinking they were trendy. So that was a great experience because you felt that you were normal, which was a weird feeling.

Most of the people I am working with are talented, independent, successful designers, although sometimes when we think about it, we think we are not, but we are. If you look at Daniel Reynolds, the textile designer, who has a great directional sense of what is the right print, he works with all the leading designers. All of them, you name it. The other person is Kate Wallace, who is a fantastic knitwear designer. I work with Carol Wiseman, who is doing her own jewellery. All these people, they are doing their own stuff, living their own lives, but for my collection we join together, it is like a joint venture.

We have also collaborated with Neil Gilks, who was the creative director for the last collection, basically curating it, but that was only the last 4 weeks before the shows. And we do video art with Daniel Burton, every season we do an inspirational video, like a mood board, which is available on our website, so that people can relate to the way that we work. Its about objects, and colours and things that "do it" for us.
