Coming off last night's episode of Rockstar Supernova (August 23, 2006), Geoff Thomas Designs jewelry has officially been used on every member of the show's principal cast. Brooke Burke hosted last night's show wearing the Egyptian King Necklace (that coincidentally Gilby Clark wore a few weeks back) and a skull denter ring. On top of it, Dave Navarro was decked out in the rings of Geoff's he has worn every episode except one for the last three weeks (including a photo shoot cover of the Calendar section of the L.A. Times) and front runner Dilana was wearing two of Geoff's cuffs, including the spiked Claws Cuff. In past episodes, Gilby Clark has worn rings and necklaces, Tommy Lee a one of a kind belt buckle and Jason Newsted rings of Geoff 's.
Geoff 's designs have clearly made a mark on Hollywood as his pieces have infiltrated such shows as The OC, ET on MTV, and TRL among others. GTD will be virtually everywhere in the Fall television season being featured on America 's Next Top Model (twice..plus an entire challenge was shot in his showroom), Dirt, Biggest Loser, Beauty and The Geek, Sons of Hollywood and Miami Ink. His jewelry can also be seen in the latest issues of Unleashed, BPM, Soak, Strutter, Inked and will soon be featured in upcoming issues of FHM (Jenna Jameson), King, XXL, Strutter, Stylephile, Jezebel and S Magazine.
Geoff has been hard at work on his new mokume gane line that incorporates the metal amalgam mixed with diamonds; hand made and threaded 24 kt. gold bolts and his ever identifiable IP Face logo.
About Geoff Thomas
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler wore several of his necklaces for a new Target TV commercial. Supermodel Tracy Bingham, giving modern meaning to the word “breastplate,” wore one of his ornate, hand-fabricated, sterling silver and gold metal bikini tops during a party at his showroom.
One thing’s for sure: the eponymous founder of Geoff Thomas Designs is attracting both the attention of stars and fashionistas in the U.S. and Europe with his strikingly original jewelry, custom works that attest to Thomas’ skills as an accomplished sculptor, painter and former tattoo artist in the Hawaiian Islands.
Thomas is inspired by diverse sources – from ancient mythology to Eastern culture, Roman icons to sculptors such as Michelangelo and Rodin.
His bold jewelry designs, which he personally conceives and handcrafts, owe their unique style to his being largely self-taught. Thomas began designing pieces initially for himself, working in copper and sterling silver with semi-precious cabochon stones, broadening his oeuvre into gold and precious gems.
While some clients have requested specific gems for their metaphysical properties, many simply want a beautiful piece of custom jewelry, for special occasions such as a wedding or for anytime.
What unites all of them is his philosophy. “I prefer to give each client a one-of-a-kind piece, one that they can take pride in owning, knowing it's the only one out there,” he says.
