Husna lives in San Diego and travels between United States and Turkey in order to create her traditional leather sandal collections which are associated with Bodrum and in particular with Ali Guven, who had been hand-making leather sandals in Bodrum from 1966, 'till his death in 2010.

Ali Guven had made traditional leather sandal designs and collections for various international celebrities and designers. His most famous collection of leather sandals were last seen at the adaptation of Homer's great epic "Troy" movie in 2004.

Husna Bulbuloglu has an unusual academic background, she hasn't studied fashion or shoe design. Actually, Husna has studied "International Relations" education at the Bilkent University, in Turkey. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree, she went to the United States in 1999. Following her Master's and PhD degrees at the Columbia University and 12 years of career in the construction industry in the USA, it was October 2011 when Husna listened to her inner voice to pursue her passion for designing traditional leather sandals that she was taught by the master; Ali Guven.

Husna doesn't call herself as a 'designer' and continues, "I am a businesswoman and my style determines the sandals we create. I don’t follow fashion very closely. There is no point of wearing what is in fashion and not look good in it. I prefer to be stylish rather then Fashionable. While creating our Sandal models we try to interpret adapting authentic eras into todays’ modern style."

Today Ali Guven's tradition is carried on by Husna and her team in Bodrum. Bodrum is a port city in Mugla Province, in the southwestern Aegean Region of the Turkish Riviera which is creating a natural environment full of fascinating, ancient and archaeological inspirations for all the designers, artists and craftsman.

Husna's exclusively designed, high quality and made to order sandals are all one of a kind. They're also eco-friendly and made with the finest organic calf leather. Every stitch and cut is carried out by hand. The orders take between 10-15 days to reach to the customers.

Husna's 100% Hand-made and Hand-painted sandals are made to order for every individual customer and even the soles are cut by hand, not by using any machinery. As the artist can only paint 2 pieces per day, after the shoes are made, it takes between 20 to 25 days to reach to the customer.
