February 25, 2011 - The Los Angeles-based collective behind LMD creates modern statement pieces meticulously crafted using traditional metalsmithing techniques.
The artisanal collection's signature look is a modern fusion of unconventional pairings; contrasting hand-sculpted sterling, brass and copper with inlays of exotic and reclaimed wood traditionally used for guns and knives such as buckeye, box elder, diamond wood, burled maple and ebony.
Wood-inlaid pendants are often hung from hand-beaded necklaces of onyx, jasper, lapis and quartz.
Inspiration ranges from California mid-century architecture to ancient Mayan and Egyptian cultures. |
